Homework is a valuable means of reinforcing work started in school and extending learning. It is set in all subjects on a two week rota system. Pupils are given Planners in which they should write details of homework set. Homework will not always be written. Reading, research, making, thinking, learning etc. will be set as the teacher thinks fit. Parents should feel they can help children with homework, without doing it for them. If a child cannot do the homework then parents can put a note in the planner to alert the teacher. Children should not feel they should struggle on if homework is too difficult but this needs to be balanced as being challenged is what will build resilience and allow children to be fully stretched to their full potential.
