Scissett Middle School is a very special place and I have the great pleasure and honour of being the Headteacher.
I have worked in the three-tier system of education throughout my career and I firmly believe a middle school is better matched to the developmental needs of children. The middle years of schooling are particularly important formative years, encompassing the transition from the world of the young child to that of the young adult.
As a school community, we believe hugely in setting the highest standards and aspirations for our children so that they can embody our vision to ensure that we are all inspired with a love of learning, a zest for life and the confidence to excel whilst keeping our values at the heart of everything we do.
From the moment you walk through our doors you will witness the positive relationships enjoyed by all those connected with the school. At this school we have an ethos that values courtesy, co-operation, good manners and mutual respect. We have high expectations in terms of behaviour for learning and we promote the need for a positive ‘can do’ attitude in all that we do.
At Scissett we are committed to supporting every pupil as they flourish both academically and personally. We have high expectations of all in our school community, and believe that the partnership between school and parents is crucial to the successful development of the pupils in our care.
This website is intended to be informative and helpful and to provide you with the factual information which you and your child require. It will provide you with an insight into the life, work and values of the school. However, the website cannot fully convey the richness and variety of experiences that are offered to pupils here, if you do require further information then do not hesitate to contact us; we would love to hear from you. If you would like to visit the school, we would be very happy to show you around.
Thank you for visiting our website – we look forward to welcoming you to Scissett Middle very soon.
