Harry Potter Trip

26 October 2018

Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you for agreeing to your child attending the visit to the Harry Potter Warner Brothers Studio Tour on Friday,
9 November 2018. Here are just a few reminders for the trip. Your child will need:

• To wear full school uniform and sensible footwear. Coats may or may not be necessary as the tour is indoors for the most part;
• A small bag containing essentials for the day;
• A small purse/wallet to carry money, if necessary;
• A packed lunch and a packed tea. The tea may be stored on the coach and eaten on the homeward journey.

Packed meals should be clearly labelled and not include fizzy/energy drinks please; however, if a lunch has been ordered previously from the school kitchen this will be collected before leaving on the day. Tea will not be provided for any pupils. You may also wish to provide a mid-morning snack as we will not eat lunch until reaching the studios.
There is an extensive – and expensive - gift shop at the studio where children may buy reasonably priced items although we are not planning on this being a shopping trip! On this occasion, we are not recommending any maximum amount of spending money; however, please be aware that pupils will be responsible for any money taken at all times.

Sweets may be taken on the trip, but these may not be eaten on the coach. Mobile phones or other hand-held devices may be taken providing they are used in accordance with the school policy i.e. NOT FOR TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS OF OTHER CHILDREN. They may be used in the studio but NOT FOR TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS OF OTHER CHILDREN. The usual school rules will apply and anyone not adhering to these will have their phone confiscated, as in the school policy. Please note, cameras, etc. may not be used on the trip for safeguarding reasons and all photographs of pupils will be taken by staff. Any use of social media, during and after the trip, will be treated as a serious matter.

If your child needs medication, including travel sickness pills, please ensure that they are taken in good time for the outward journey. Tablets for the return journey should be clearly labelled with your child’s name and the dosage and handed in to your child’s group leader.

Finally, please remember that we aim to leave promptly at 9am and will not return until approximately 8.00pm. Pupils will be allowed to text when we are within 30 minutes of home. Please do not park in the bus bay or the drive as it is important that they are kept clear at all times for the coaches - and the children - to enter and leave safely. Should you wish to park on the school grounds, Y6 and Y7 playgrounds will be available before and after the trip. Please access these carefully via the school driveway.

Thank you for your consideration and cooperation.
